Let’s Briefly Explain The TriPeaks Solitaire Rules

Solitaire TriPeaks is a fun, exciting, fast-paced, and free online card game that requires the ability to think strategically in order to play. It’s a relatively recent entry into the Solitaire universe, only emerging on the world stage in 1983 as part of the Microsoft Solitaire Collection.

Although it was only a computerized creation when it first came out, it was so popular that soon, it migrated into the non-cyber world. Soon, people began to play it with real decks of cards.

Here, it returns to its digital roots. A TriPeaks Solitaire tableaux consist of three pyramids, a discard pile that starts out with no cards in it and a stock pile from which to replenish your card supply. Four rows of cards make up each peak. The bottom row is face-up, and all the other cards are face-down. To declare yourself the winner, you’ll have to move all cards from the multi-peak pyramid into the discard pile.

However, you can only remove face-up cards that are one numeric level higher or lower than the card at the top of the discard pile. A card is considered removable if no cards are overlapping it.

Once you remove a card from one of the three peaks, pair it with its consecutively numbered mate by adding it to the top of the discard pile. Once you banish a card to the discard pile, turn all the cards underneath it face-up if they’re not touching any other cards.

For example, if the pile has a king on top, you could remove a face-up queen or ace. Another example is if the top card in the discard pile is an ace, you would eliminate either a two or a king from the upper part of the tableaux. Disregard the colors and the suits because they have no relevance whatsoever in TriPeaks Solitaire.

You start out with the entire bottom row face up. However, as you progress, cards above the bottom row will be turned over. Draw a card from the stock pile if no face-up cards can be moved to the discard pile. If you move all the cards from all three peaks to the discard pile before the stock pile becomes depleted, you’ve won the game.

If you want to win, you must think strategically. This means removing those cards that’ll free up the maximum number of cards in the three pyramids.

Another strategic technique you can use is instead of getting rid of a single pyramid at a time, try doing so row by row. This is a much faster way to send cards to the discard pile because you’ll have way more face-up cards to choose from.
